Julie, what a sweetheart you are, thank you for the refund from my last purchase...I am drooling over this vintage crepe paper! I think I made some of those Dennison flowers at one time...but I remember working more on woodfiber (in beautiful colored squares), using very similar patterns. I think that is why I am so drawn to you & your website with all those glorious steims, reminding me of my childhood love of creation in the late 40's & 50's.xoxo, Nancy
OMG! Love love love!!!!
Oh the cake.. the cake is so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your love paper with us bluegirl!Blessings!
I have that same crepe paper book given to me by my grandmother. Now I just need to find the vintage crepe paper. :)I have organized a spring swap and linky party. If you are interested the details are on today's post.Be blessed!
This brings back memories for me- Not that I'm old enough to remember the 30s! I was born in the 60s but my great grandmother used to make all the floral displays for the department stores -back in the 30s (she also played the piano for the silent movies) at any celebration and also for shop displays she made crepe paper flowers even in the late 60's early 70s the crepe paper was so lovely to work with, not like the thin stuff that we get now. I remember sitting in a sea of paper flowers in the lounge room learning how to make them and helping her with her task.
Julie, These crepe paper flowers are amazing- they almost make me wonder why I've been struggling with finicky, fraying silk for all these years! I might have to give it a shot.... They you for the quick ship on the sugar stamens- I've already put them to work ;)
oooh, a tower of spring! How divine~Thanks for sharing; These are so lovely! Great find!
I have a box of vintage crepe paper...just waiting to be sold or used. It really is special, the feel, the color...There was directions similar to those you showed somewhere with my purchase too.
What a wonderful idea for spring! I can picture these covering an entire wall with color or in beautiful dangling window garlands. The pattern book is way cool.
Oh these are just so beautiful - if ever I feel a bit down, I find looking at your blog always lifts my spirits. xx
I've just given away a full range of Dennison's crepe paper, I didn't know it wasn't made now. I'm sure it will be appreciated though, it's going to a young and vibrant WI.
